Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that you want your target market to be giddy over your services and products. You are in the business of serving others and you want to help as many ideal clients as you could possibly manage. Right?
To be of service and create a profitable business requires that you speak directly to the market that is already seeking the solutions that you provide. The first step to getting your target market to be giddy over your offerings (and increasing your profits) is to get CRYSTAL clear on who your ideal client is and what it is they want from you. Not sure how to do this? Let's break it down.
Your Ideal Client - This is the ONE individual in your business that you can't believe you get paid to work with. The one who happily pays your fees and appreciates the value you add to their lives. The one you get excited to talk to and look forward to meeting with. What does this person's life look like? What are they interested in? What do they read? Where do they vacation? What is their family structure? (These details help you understand their priorities and how they spend their time.)
Take a few moments to reflect on all of the clients you've worked with in the past. Write down the demographics of each person and whether or not they were an ideal client. (If they were not ideal for your business, note the reason(s) why). Then look for patterns. What do these individuals have in common? Though we live in a modern, fast paced society, spend a lot of time communicating via text message, email and social media, and are extremely pressed for time, there is NO substitute for grace and expressing your appreciation in business. This is especially true when it comes to thanking those individuals who support your business efforts. To honor the relationship and encourage ongoing referrals it's important that you make the time to stay in touch with them and offer a heartfelt thank you.
One of the reasons it can be challenging to do this, despite the best of intentions, is because service professionals are usually not nearly as organized as they should be with their marketing efforts. So, if thanking someone who has referred business to you or otherwise extended a helping hand in growing your business is not on your radar, it's not likely that you'll follow-up as you need to.
In order to develop and maintain these potentially lucrative relationships, it's important that you have systems in place to stay in touch. Here are a few tips on how you can do just that: Read more about 5 Simple Steps to Growing Your Business with Gratitude
When video marketing started getting popular, I was NOT feeling it. Looking back, I can see it was because I was WAY over thinking it! ("What will I talk about?" "Don't I need a lot of equipment?" "I've got to get cute every time I shoot a video!!")
As I worked through my own reservations, I realized what a powerful tool video is and that video marketing is here to stay. It provides you with a way to create a much deeper connection with your audience and build strong relationships. By incorporating video into your marketing mix, your viewers will get to know your personality. They’ll get much more comfortable with who you are and what you have to offer.
For these reasons and more, it’s a good strategy to start incorporating video marketing into your service business. Don’t get caught up thinking that your videos have to be Hollywood quality! A less formal video will get much a better response from your audience than a perfectly polished production.
