I sometimes laugh at the hype-y claims that are made in internet marketing. Oftentimes, the hype leads you down a path of making several purchases before you even learn the first implementable strategy on building a successful business.

What do I mean by incidental? Take for instance the products and services that you have sold in the past. Likely, you had a promotion for a specific period of time where you really put forth a great effort of marketing your product or service. You may have had a goal for the amount of income that you wanted to draw from this campaign. Does this sound familiar?
Now, I want you to fast-forward a month or two beyond that particular marketing campaign. The hustle and bustle of the launch is in the past. You have made a good number of sales from the promotional period (probably even crushing your initial goal). You may be familiar with the phrase, “throw enough against a wall and something is bound to stick." That might be true, but as you market your business (which is really just sharing solutions with people who are already looking for them) wouldn't you rather know what is going to stick before you start? This trial and error method will eventually become exhausting. You'll waste a lot of time and energy and end up with one ugly and messy "wall" in your business.
Success ALWAYS responds to decisive action. So even if an action you take leads to an outcome you didn't expect, it doesn't mean you've made a mistake. The goal is to create results!
