Are you showing empathy to your customers and prospects during this challenging time?
As a fellow marketer, I invite you to join me in avoiding a “tone-deaf” response to the health crisis. I’m seeing a LOT of off-putting messages circulating around. I’ve received several completely inappropriate emails in just the last 24 hours.
Please don’t be one of “those” brands. You can do better. We all expect you to do better.
NOW is the time to BE customer-centric (and not just talk about it because it sounds good.)
NOW is the time to truly put your customer first. Think about what they actually need (not what YOU think they need). What problems are they struggling with today? How can you make a tangible difference in your customers’ life today?
NOW, more than ever before, is the time to show empathy. To show compassion. To be supportive.
This is especially critical if you are selling to small, minority- and women-owned businesses. Small businesses across the country are trying to survive and avoid closing down, literally as we speak. You have a golden opportunity to invest in them, support them, and strengthen their communities.
Yes, you still have a business to run. But I implore you to run your business with grace and with kindness.
